In addition to Medicare covered services, Happy at Home Consulting administers evidence-based programs throughout the state including  the Home Hazard Removal Program (HARP). Learn more about the outcomes from our programming below. Home Hazard removal program (HARP)

The Home Hazard Removal Program (HARP) is a fully manualized, evidence-based fall prevention intervention designed to reduce falls for community-dwelling older adults. HARP includes:

HARP as a formalized program presently available in Milestones AAA service area Appanoose, Clinton, Davis, Des Moines, Henry, Jefferson, Keokuk, Lee, Louisa, Lucas, Mahaska, Monroe, Muscatine, Scott, Van Buren, Wapello and Wayne Counties in Iowa.

CAPABLE is an evidence-based program to help Older Iowans decrease difficulties in daily living, reduce symptoms of depression, and support independent living. The service involves home visits from a Registered Nurse (RN), Occupational Therapist (OT), and one day’s work from a skilled handy worker. These visits aim to make aging in place easier and prevent falls by providing minor home modifications such as grab bars, tub benches, or improved lighting.

The CAPABLE program expanded to include Polk & Dallas counties in April 2022. We’ve had the pleasure of working with older adults in Central Iowa to reduce fall risk and maintain independence while living at home.
